6 String Freedom
Our teaching method
Free music theory and musicianship for guitarists who already play some shapes and want to understand them.
From shapes to musical choices
6 String Freedom connects familiar chord grips, scale patterns and riffs to the note names, intervals, rhythm and harmony behind them. The free lessons are arranged in small steps so you can hear one idea, try it on your guitar, and explain what changed.
How the lessons work
Most lessons include one core idea, a short listening example, a manageable playing task, and a worked answer. The longer studies connect several ideas into original music. You can return to any lesson as often as you like.
What the audio represents
We use programmed sampled-electric guitar notes. The recordings are useful for hearing pitch and timing, but they are not videos of a musician performing physical techniques such as bends or vibrato. The course distinguishes note destinations from the hand movements needed to achieve them.
What the course does not require
No account, upload or recording submission is required. The essential concept lessons and the nine example studies are freely readable on this website.
