6 String Freedom
Privacy and learning progress
What this free guitar-learning website stores and how optional browser progress works.
Learning without an account
The free course does not require student registration or submission of personal guitar recordings. We do not have a payment system or email sign-up form on this free-course website.
Progress saved in your browser
If you mark lessons complete, the website uses your browser’s local storage to remember your progress on that browser. This progress is not automatically synchronised across devices. You can export a progress JSON file or restore one from the course home page. Clearing your browser data may erase locally saved progress.
Technical delivery
The website is hosted by SiteGround. As with ordinary website hosting, the hosting provider may process necessary technical data such as IP addresses, requested pages and security/access logs to deliver and protect the site. We do not describe that hosting data as a student account.
Audio and images
Playing a lesson MP3 or opening a fretboard image requests the corresponding file from the hosting server. Clickable note playback uses samples loaded in the browser.
Updates
This notice describes the current free-course website as of 9 October 2026. It should be reviewed if accounts, analytics, subscriptions or mailing-list functions are introduced.
